Best New Artists - November 2024

Keni Titus

Coming off of her stunning sophomore project “juliet” and an opening spot for beabadoobee on her North America tour, Keni Titus has quickly become one of my favorite artists. Originally finding her from the nostalgic sounds on her debut EP “mud on my superstars”, produced by Jason Vance Harris, Keni has continued to impress with a newfound maturity on “juliet” through grand production and lyrics that’ll make one look at their own relationships through a new lens. At only 22 years old, the potential is limitless for Keni Titus as she continues to impress musically and with her distinct yet comfortable visuals. Be sure to check other new single “mistake” coming out November 14th.

Ovrkast.

Anyone who’s stuck around from our modrNation days is already familiar with the legend that is Ovrkast. Whether you know him for his early production with Earl Sweatshirt and MAVI, his multiple credits on Drake’s “For All The Dogs”, or more recently his impressive “KAST GOT WINGS” EP that just came out last month. Ovrkast’s production has always been a breath of fresh air, and now paired with his vocals, the Oakland native now residing in Brooklyn is making one of my favorite sounds in rap right now. Make sure to check out “KAST GOT WINGS”.

Vayda

Coming from Atlanta, GA, Vayda has been on our radar for some time now but her new album “VAYTRIX” boasting features from MAVI, Zelooperz, Amindi, Tony Shhnow, and more has quickly become one of the most fun projects to come out this year. Oozing with confidence and an infectious energy, Vayda has quickly cultivated a loyal audience, and the cosigns she’s received over the years serve as a testament to her artistry. She recently lit up the stage on MAVI’s Shadowbox Tour, make sure to listen to “VAYTRIX” below.

Walter The Producer

Originating as a producer (hence the name), Walter The Producer has paired comedic yet high-production visuals with catchy hooks and melodies to become one of the most exciting indie artists coming out. Reminiscent of Steve Lacy and Rex Orange County, Walter The Producer’s last two singles “Bad Bad Man” and “Little Lies” have lit up social media following the release of his freshman album “PLEASE HELP ME IM SCARED”. Entirely self-produced, the project is a peek into Walter’s complex universe, showcasing his distinct production and thought-provoking writing. Amidst the upbeat anthems, our favorite from Walter The Producer is the introspective “WALLBOY”, make sure to check it out below.
