Malik Elijah Releases Highly Anticipated Project “DETOUR”

Coming from Maryland, residing in Boston, Malik Elijah just came out with his second mixtape “DETOUR” and the blend of retro hiphop with modern influences pairs for one of my favorite new sounds of the year. Every aspect of this project was incredibly executed, it’s rare to see a new artist release a concept album nowadays, but it was inspiring seeing the amount of effort and creativity put into this rollout by Malik and his team. 

Landing features from Isaac Zale, MARCO PLUS, and more, Malik pulled a wide range of sounds to bring this tape to life and he was able to perfectly mesh with every feature he brought on board. With the breakout single “DONTPLAY” bringing so much attention to the project, Malik managed to not only live up to the expectations but even overdeliver with standout tracks like “QUITEDOWN” and “FINALNOTICE”.
