MAVI Delivers New Single “Baking Soda”
Mavi is a force to be reckoned with as he continues to rise in popularity with every release. Taking time in between projects, his upcoming album "Laughing So Hard It Hurts" is set to release October 14 – Mavi promotes his sophomore album with the release of the first single on the album “Baking Soda” (Sep.16). Along with the single, a video was released in which Mavi gives his fans an insight into a day in his life. Mavi has kept his fans satisfied as he was able to release the EP “END OF THE EARTH” (Feb. 22) in between albums.
Mavi's emotions bleed through the track while his melancholy flow compliments the slowed-production. The North Carolina-native raps the lyrics “I been gave my soul away to the drum I'ma live forever, We ain't come from gold spoons but gold chains, my n-s' clever, She say we either on drugs or need to be, Which is better?, She was already gone fore I could see she ain't get the letter.” Mavi is embedded within his music so much that his soul will live forever through it. He details a conversation in which he is asked if it is better to be "on drugs or need to be," and this is a hard question to answer in that some people are on drugs by choice while others need to be. After the release of his first album “Let The Sun Talk” (Oct.15) too much success in 2019, Mavi has been steadily on the rise to prominence as he was featured on Earl Sweatshirt’s album “FEET OF CLAY” (Nov.1). The North Carolina-rapper is consistently putting in the work and will soon be in everyone's playlist.
